Who We Are?
The Barkary is a small family run business. With a lifelong passion for animals the decision a few years back was to purchase a farm, mainly to house the family’s horses.
Following the death of a close friend, the dream of the Barkary had become a reality sooner than expected. This friend built the foundations for the kennel block & this is where the place gets its name from: the late Ernest “Ernie” Barker and the initial creator of The Barkary.
We are owners of many dogs ourselves and we decided this venture would be ideal knowing we could give other peoples loved ones the care and attention we give our own.
The journey started out by modifying the farms pig barns which now houses seven luxury kennel units, this is something we pride ourselves on here at The Barkary as the small scale of guests allows us to provide a more personalised and intimate relationship with your loved ones, allowing plenty of one-to-one time together. However by popular demand for our service, we then have developed further more units housed within there own blocks, where the design is mirrored against the original block. We have modified stables adjacent to the kennel block and turned these into The Barkary’s Premium family rooms. The office is used dual purpose with holding pens for our dogs arrivals & departures and is where we also have our grooming bath / table and equipment.
